My Experience

I was excited to capture my first wedding reception at this gorgeous wedding venue. I was fortunate to have time with the wedding party prior to the reception to capture a wide variety of photos of them inside the mansion.

It was a LONG wait before I had been able to return to The Covenant for another wedding, and it was absolutely worth the wait. Sara and Mikey's wedding was incredible. They said their I do's in the Covenant, had photos taken on the grounds and in the Mansion, all while the amazing staff turned the ceremony location into a gorgeous reception hall for the celebration! Their wedding photo slideshow is available here.

Two weeks later, I was blessed to capture Jordyn & Jordan's wedding & reception both held at the Covenant at Murray Mansion in Racine as well. Another gorgeous day, with a beautiful slice of golden hour for some couple portraits. You can see their wedding slideshow here.

The Parish House

A fully restored historic home, the Parish House sleeps up to 6 and has a full kitchen! What a great way to spend your first night as a married couple after dancing the night away in the Covenant.

This two story home was originally built as a servants quarters, attached to the Murray Mansion.

Decorated with vintage restored furniture and an updated kitchen, the house just ads to the overall charm and exquisite experience you'll have when booking you wedding day at this location.

The Murray Mansion

The Murray Mansion is a perfect spot for an intimate ceremony & reception, or if you choose to rent both the Covenant and the Mansion, you can have your ceremony in the Covenant, and while the staff quickly converts it for your reception, you can host your cocktail hour in the Mansion.

The upstairs has several restored rooms for your wedding party to get ready and keep their things for the duration of the day. And the simple, classic decor is perfect for any wedding.

Worried about rain or adverse weather on your big day? Don't be - because with the Mansion and the Covenant - the beautiful photo opportunities are endless. Gorgeous, light and airy rooms, with big beautiful windows provide natural light, so you won't have to worry about a thing.

If you'd like to have some outdoor photos - perfect! The front side of the Mansion has a charming porch, arched door way, and trees - giving you ample backdrops for a good variety of images.

The Mansion is also a perfect place to host your bridal shower, baby shower, engagement party, or office party!

The Covenant

I absolutely LOVE this space. With an all white interior, a ton of gorgeous natural light, restored pipe organ bar, and balcony for an optimal photography perspective - it is a photographers dream come true.

The 30' high ceilings and charming light fixtures, along with the original stained glass windows, make this historic church - turned hall an optimal venue for your wedding ceremony & reception.

Did I mention that it is also air conditioned! Living in Wisconsin, we all know that we can have negative 20 degree winters and 90 degree summers! So having a space that can keep your guests cool is essential for those July or August weddings.

History

In 1850, George Murray immigrated to the US from Scotland, And by the end of 1874, he had built the most expensive Italianate-style mansion in Racine - complete with a gorgeous mahogany staircase and seven marble fireplaces! Designed by a team of architects including Walter Blythe and Lucas Bradley, the mansion was valued at $30,000.

In 1949, Our Saviors Lutheran Church purchased the mansion for $38,000. The mansion portion was then used as a home for the church pastors and their families.

The current owners - Meyer and Gould Families - have done an incredible job restoring the 15,000 square foot venue to be as close to it's original condition as possible after investing love, care and time to get it to where it is now.
