The grace and beauty with which a ballet dancer moves, is really something to be appreciated.
I had wanted to photograph a ballet dancer using longer, flowing fabric to give a whimsical feel in the final portrait. I had been blessed with a gorgeous temporary studio space downtown Kenosha,
This girl did not disappoint! I asked her to freestyle dance for me while I watched her movements, captured some detail shots, and really become captivated by the beauty of the moment.
I had in my mind a few shots that I wanted, and I wasn't sure if they'd be typical ballet poses, or how it would come across - me a non-dancer - attempting to show a professional dancer how to pose. It was a little comical, but she understood what I was going for, and she executed it perfectly.
This image is framed and hangs in my living room, I love it that much.
