I've had the pleasure of photographing a summer wedding and a fall wedding at Redfield Estates.
For the summer wedding, the couple chose to have their ceremony outdoors in the woods under the gazebo/pergola. It was a sunny day, and the clearing in the woods was a perfect little slice of nature for them to exchange their vows.
The couple decided to use the historic house to get ready in, and had a small wedding party. They made their day all about their guests, trying to focus on spending as much time with them as possible.
Following the ceremony, they went right into an early evening reception. Cocktail hour was spent outside on the grounds, and guests were free to roam, and enjoy the gardens at The Grove.
Their reception was under the cover of the pavilion, where they danced the evening away! You can view their wedding photo slideshow here.
My fall couple, chose to have their ceremony indoors, as they were unsure of what the weather would be like in October in northern Illinois.
It was a beautiful setting, with an even more gorgeous couple. The Bride had her uncle - a designer - custom make her wedding dress, and it was absolutely stunning.
Following the ceremony, we quickly went into family portraits outdoors as the sun was setting fast.
The couple had their black and gold vintage '20's theme reception outdoors under the pavilion, with the fire roaring in the background. It was an absolute dream come true for these two! You can view their wedding photo slideshow here.
